Click Command+N to open up a new Finder window.

Click Command+Shift+Northward to create a new binder, where your screenshots will go.

Type "concluding" and select Last.

Ignoring the quotation marks, type "defaults write com.apple tree.screencapture location " making sure to enter the space at the stop subsequently 'location'.

Click Enter.

// For JPG instead of PNG:

defaults write com.apple.screencapture type jpg;killall SystemUIServer

I've already whipped upward a mostly-working clone of this in Objective-C and NSTask this afternoon, using some neat tricks similar 'defaults read' and 'defaults domains' I've been able to uncover fifty-fifty more little nooks and crannies.

I'll gear up a GitHub for the project tomorrow when I'm 100% sure of it's functionality. It already has a scattering more features. Anyone desire to help me with a name? :P

How-do-you-do HN, I kept being annoyed past OS Ten things like: repeatedly asking if I want to update OS Ten, opening iTunes when I plugged in my iPhone, putting screenshots only to desktop, saving screenshots equally 4mb PNG instead of JPG, I couldn't minimize all my 26 opened windows in one click, my desktop always mess of files and I can't simply hide them. So I've made the app that fixes this. Demo: https://www.makeosxgreatagain.com/demo/ What keeps annoying y'all in Bone X? I will try to add it, and then nosotros can make information technology not bad again :)

$10 for an app that executes a agglomeration of terminal commands?

I take one-half a mind to whip up something like this in Xcode this afternoon and FOSS it...

Information technology certainly does not have enough features to warrant $10 for me.

Also, is the use of the Trump matter really necessary? :/

Any chances it could back up:

                                                                  - killing total screen animations - hiding full screen apps similar any other (cmd-h) - keyboard control for notifications
?

I assume those are a lot less trivial.

I but realized that yous can get rid of visible notifications by activating Practice Non Disturb, for which you can set a keyboard shortcut (System Preferences > Keyboard > Shortcuts > Mission Control), which is all I actually need.

Striking me upwardly at info@theoic.me - I'm a Obj-C/MacOS dev of 10+ years it should be a super uncomplicated project, as long equally you're okay with FOSS'ing information technology. :)

That "Make X dandy once more" tag line was funny for a while but I call up that's in the past. I'd choose something else.

Make great again, would imply there was a time that the OS was overall ameliorate than it is today, which is of grade rather silly since while in that location an incredibly long list of small imrpovements we would all dear to run into, in that location is no previous version of macOS that I imagine that see as being greater and thus would revert likewise. But would dearest to meet app like, "Brand OS Ten Even Amend. Difficult to imagine an app that could fix all of those things. As anything you defaults you can change via final commands are already available for free on github like the popular https://github.com/mathiasbynens/dotfiles, unless this app plans to accept cadre functionality versus just running final commands one time.

> End asking for updates

I remember Apple tree has a pretty aggressive policy around encouraging updates, and I'd imagine it'due south because having up-to-date software is an annoying necessity. Those notifications annoy me too, but ignoring them at the price of missing security patches seems unideal.

Sure, but I don't tend to trust myself plenty to call back to exercise that on tiptop of everything else I have to. I have to lean pretty heavily on reminders, and I feel similar that'south non uncommon.

If anyone has a way to make the red X button actually close an app similar Windows, would be nearly greatful! Microsoft apps similar Outlook tend to work, but most apps don't, the about annoying existence Firefox (if I use the reddish Ten to close, information technology's nevertheless running and won't auto restore my tabs when I click it again). I've tried RedQuits but doesn't seem to piece of work anymore. :/

I gave upwardly almost two years agone. Keeping iPhone and watch, just I feel I can do much ameliorate on Linux (fedora).

2d the annotate about "brand x great again".
